My Little Pony Megadrive : it takes all sorts to make a world…
Special edition ! 80’s forever ! If I say “My Little Poney” ? These small animals (to hairdress) are unforgettable ! They have been released in 1981 and were a tremendous success, eclipsing the classical Barbie.
When I was playing LEGO for hours, dreaming on a game console or stealing the Saint Seya figurine of my friends, my girl mates was playing with the long, multicolored and brushable hairs of theses creatures.
Seriously, is there any link between these ponies and my humble blog ? Yes !
I was browsing eBay – like usual – after a click on my finder (an american sms game probably). And I found this :
A Genesis game (US Megadrive) starring a “Cristal Pony”… Wow ! Only released in USA I think, this game had to be in my collection ! 🙂
If you want to k.

For the fans, a scan of the insert in a pretty good resolution (I have a 20 MB file for the hardcore fans) :
I have even found the original opening theme of the animated TV serie (chown on TF1) in french :

Manifeste pour les chercheurs de cartouches
Pourquoi Diable s’intéresser aux jeux vidéo cartouches ? La(es) réponses(s) peu(ven)t paraître évident(s) pour le passionné, mais que répondre à sa copine totalement étrangère au domaine ? Comment lui expliquer sa passion alors que les jeux vidéo sont associés pour elle aux poupées Barbie et autres gamineries ? Je vous propose quelques pistes de réflexion, des bases pour une discussion adulte sur ce sujet.
Biblio 1.57 for SMS available
The list of all Master System games released outside Japan is available today. This 1.57 version adds several artwork/insert scans and increase the Priceminister linking. You also have noticed the new rarity table in the sms section. I hope it will help you to collect better. If you have any trouble, contact-me.
Musha Aleste
Musha Aleste… a legendary title, that many consider as THE best shoot on Megadrive ever. Acronym for Metallic Uniframe Super Hybrid Armor, it was only released in Japan and USA. This game is a star of imports.
Vertical shoot with a complex gameplay, it deserves all the honors of a european version :
It is not magic but cartmodding : a original megadrive game cartridge is opened and dismounted. A new ROM is placed inside. The insert and game sticker are to be created from scratch. So, you will get a rare game (never released in a country or slighty modified) in a true Megadrive cartridge, compatible with your original hardware.
You are ready to feel a whole new experience with your european Megadrive !
Bionic Commando & BC Rearmed
I have not been on the Xbox Live Arcade for a while… I could have done a big mistake : missing the HD remake of Bionic Commando. It is a classic NES game that I really loved younger. The character is a commando armed with a powerfull bionic arm/glove that you can use to swing or grab objects. You will face an army of fanatized soldiers.
Nostalgia sequence : “plug me on a SEGA !”
I could not resist to share with you an old french TV ad for the Sega Master System console. It was the first ad I saw for this system, actually splitted in two parts. This is the second one (I am still looking for the first). Here is a short word-to-word translation : “it’s me again, you haven’t not plug (connect) me yet. So, be kind/cool, plug me on a SEGA !”. Souvenirs, souvenirs !

Biblio 1.56 for SMS : 4 new variations !
It is a great pleasure to announce the immediate release of the Biblio 1.56, the Sega Master System (sms) game list. 4 new variations for a total of 778 games to collect : Spy vs Spy, Super Monaco GP, Taz Mania and Teddy Boy. I have also added several links to insert scans (provided by smspower.org) and improved the Priceminister integration.
The Ghost Who Walk
“Become the 24th Phantom and save Metropia!” What a mission ! Inspired from a comic of the 30’s (author : Lee Falk), Phantom 2040 takes place in the 21st century, in a world owned by big companies, divided in “state cities”. The robots replaced humans in many tasks, and Maximum Corp, the local Nasdaq evil, even produces combat robots for some illegal activities. So we will have to shoot tons of them
This game is pretty difficult and adult : it is a Metroid-like in a noir and complex universe. It is directly adapted from the tv serie, so you will find all the main characters. This game is a treasure, even if people forget it. Released in 1995 on Game Gear, Super Nintendo and Megadrive, you should try it !
Here is my personal copy 🙂
Captain Skyhawk sur NES
Among the few NES games that marked me is Capatin Skyhawk (an MB game) : a very fun game shoot in isometric 3D. It is similar to the arcade classic Zaxxon from SEGA. You have to repel an alien invasion with your tuned F14 fighter. You can replay this game directly in your browser : http://www.nintendo8.com/game/741/captain_skyhawk/ !
